When did your health and wellness journey begin? July 31st, 2018
What made you want to work with Lindsey? My friend worked with her and had great results. She wrote a blog about her experience and I became interested.
What are your top three health goals/priorities? Being able to keep up with my 3 year old daughter, lose weight and be happy.
What do you love most about your nutrition program? The accountability. Generally speaking I love a challenge. But the great thing about the nutrition program is how the accountability of it all yields for amazing results.
What are your biggest challenges? Keeping my carbs down. I’m a vegetarian, so we naturally eat a lot of carbs and not enough protein. With that said, I am getting better at it.
How do you work to overcome them? I try to be more cognizant of what I eat. I try to substitute those carbs for better food options, like protein. The most exciting thing about this whole experience for me, has been the knowledge that I’ve gained in regards to food.
How do you stay committed to your goals? Just being me I guess. I am a pretty committed person. Once I set my mind to something its pretty much complete as far as a target is concerned.
If you get off track, how do you feel and what do you do? I just take it one day at a time. I never really get off track per se. In my mind, the goal is the overall lifestyle commitment. So when you look at it like that, as a humans you know you’re going to have days where you fall off or make a mistake, but you just keep going. Tomorrow is a different day, a new time to refocus and recommit. I totally understand that this is easier said than then done, but this is truly really how I see life.
What did you find most surprising about your experience in the program/working with Lindsey? At how loving and motivating she is. When I first started working with her, I thought she hated me. (HAHAH) She was basically just handing me a lot of tough love. I needed that ass kicking though.. it motivated me.
What is one thing that you learned in this experience in the program/working with Lindsey that you wish you knew before? Knowledge. This might seem a bit overboard… but I believe counting calories and macros should be law. We shouldn’t be allowed to eat food without knowing what’s in it. There were so many foods I assumed where bad for me. After working with Lindsey I learned that everything is fine in moderation. That was huge for me. Knowledge is truly power in this case.
If there was one piece of advice you could give to someone wanting to start a weight loss/wellness journey, what would it be? Take it one day at a time. The goal is not the number, the journey is in the lifestyle.
